Description

  • CREATe ? IIT Madras's multidisciplinary translational research initiative ? develops assistive technologies supporting education, communication, and employment for the differently-abled, delivered to marginalised communities through the Enability Foundation. This initiative establishes national resource centres as one-stop destinations for assistive devices, offering innovations including Take Note, Access Switches, Tactograph, and Kavi-PTS ? while conducting training and awareness drives at schools, strengthening social inclusion, and empowering visually impaired and motor-disabled individuals across India.

Impact

  • Portfolio of products that include: Take Note ? a compact and portable note-taking device for the visually impaired, Access Switches ? replaces the left-click of the mouse for people with motor disability, Tactograph ? creates tactile outlines of images for the visually impaired at low cost, Kavi-PTS and Kavi+ ? picture-to-speech app and online lessons
