Description

  • Inaugurated in August 2024, the Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM) facility at IIT Madras ? enabling scientists to examine cells, viruses, and molecules in extraordinary detail ? now requires enhanced capabilities for comprehensive scientific exploration. This initiative establishes a specialized cryo-sectioning facility centred around the Arctis Cryo-Plasma Focused Ion Beam (Cryo-PFIB) technique, enabling advanced sample preparation, improved data quality, and healthcare applications spanning artificial skin for wound healing, PM2.5/PM10 toxicity research, and tropical disease management ? driving high-impact publications, patents, and Make in India innovation.
