Objective

• Setting up of the Incubation Centre and facilities, Hiring of the CEO and staff, Incubation of 15 startups working in the IITM ecosystem, Addition of another 40 startups working in the IITM ecosystem

Description

• As exponential information growth across audio, text, and visual data renders traditional management methods inadequate, appropriate tools to extract actionable insights have become critical. This IIT Madras Data Science Incubator establishes a dedicated centre incubating 55 startups within the IITM ecosystem, leveraging ML algorithms to deliver real-time insights for government applications ? urban planning, weather assistance ? and industry utilities such as drone mapping and geo-level customer support, while providing incubation facilities, CEO-led staff, and access to IITM's research ecosystem.

Impact

• Large volumes and reliability of data when coupled with powerful ML algorithms leverage the power of data in real time to provide useful insights, The applications for the government sector can span urban planning, weather assistance, etc., The impact on industry can be transformative with utilities such as drone mapping, geo-level customer support, etc.
