Description
- This IIT Madras initiative establishes a dedicated satellite tracking and telemetry ground station ? equipped with towers, antennas, and tracking software ? beginning with LEO satellite tracking before shifting focus to IITMSAT post-launch. By publicly sharing IITMSAT's scientific data, training students in tracking, telemetry, and HAM radio communication, supporting satellite startups, and offering summer internships and bi-weekly training for students from other institutions, the project builds India's next generation of space-tech talent and strengthens the national satellite ecosystem.
