Objective

  • To establish a state-of-the-art Multi-layer PCB fabrication facility in the Central Electronics Centre to provide fabrication services within the Institute and at IIT Madras Research Park, other academic institutions, startup companies, and industries in south India

Description

  • PCBs ? made from materials like fibreglass or composite epoxy ? range from single-layer boards in simple electronics to multilayer boards with over sixteen layers in complex devices like computer graphics cards. This IIT Madras initiative establishes a state-of-the-art multi-layer PCB fabrication facility in the Central Electronics Centre, providing end-to-end services ? from PCB design, manufacturing, and assembly to testing and validation ? for academic institutions, startups, and industries across south India, accelerating hardware innovation and electronic system development.

Impact

  • The Centre plans to assist academic institutions, startups, and industries address electronic system design challenges, It aims to develop new electronic systems from scratch, including PCB design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and validation
