State-of-the-Art Rheo-Raman Characterization Technique: A powerful tool for Soft Material developments for potential applications in biomedical, healthcare and household goods sectors

Principal Investigator

Prof. Khushboo Suman

Objective

  • We propose the acquisition of an integrated Rheo-Raman system, a state-of-the-art platform that combines rheology with in-situ Raman spectroscopy.

Description

  • Understanding the relationship between microstructure, flow behavior, and performance is central to advancing modern materials, including soft solids, gels, complex fluids, clays, and surfactant-based systems. Most characterization tools provide either structural information (e.g., spectroscopy or scattering) or rheological information (flow and deformation), but rarely both simultaneously. As a result, researchers often lack real-time insight into how structural rearrangements under stress directly influence macroscopic properties.

Impact

  • Real-Time Structure-Property Understanding., Accelerated Research and Innovation., Improved Material Stability and Performance., Enabling Advanced Soft-Matter Research.
