Technology acceleration for India's LA28 Medal Pipeline
Principal Investigator
Prof. IITM - Mission Olympic Wing (Indian Army)
Objective
- We invite CSR partnership support of Rs. 1.30 crore (excluding statutory overheads) to co-create deployable sports technologies that directly enhance India's elite athlete preparation for LA28 with measurable performance impact and national visibility.
Description
- India's preparation cycle for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games represents a decisive window where marginal performance gains translate directly into podium outcomes. Modern elite sport increasingly relies on continuous physiological sensing, biomechanics, recovery intelligence, and data-driven coaching decisions. The Indian Army's Mission Olympic Wing provides a disciplined national platform across multiple training nodes to deploy and validate such technologies at scale.
Impact
- CESSA will develop a modular ecosystem of athlete-safe wearables including sweat-based biochemical sensors, skin temperature and heat-flux sensors, heart rate and heart-rate variability monitors, etc., Data from wearables will be fused with video analytics to create sport-specific AI models for wrestling, weightlifting, and boxing., Outputs will be delivered through coach- and athlete-facing dashboards to support evidence-based training decisions.
