Establish an advanced NDE Training facility to develop skilled human resources in digital radiography, computed tomography, phased array ultrasonics & AI-enabled NDE for empowering science & engineering graduates
Principal Investigator
Prof. Krishnan Balasubramanian
Objective
- it is proposed that CNDE, with support from CSR funding, establish a cutting-edge NDE training facility dedicated to developing skilled manpower in Digital Radiography, Computed Tomography, and Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing.
Description
- India is witnessing strong growth in its manufacturing sector, driven by focused government initiatives to promote domestic production, including the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. Alongside this expansion, the Government of India is placing strong emphasis on product quality and reliability. Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, structural integrity, and safety throughout the entire lifecycle of engineering systems.
Impact
- This program will develop and publish comprehensive guidebooks for Digital Radiography, Computed Tomography, Phased Array Ultrasonics (UT), and Artificial Intelligence-assisted NDE., The NDE laboratory facility will be fully equipped with representative specimens, inspection phantoms, calibration blocks, licensed software, and dedicated computer systems required to deliver effective hands-on training to candidates., The program aims to develop trained and certified personnel in advanced NDE technologies.
