Principal Investigator

Prof. IIT Madras

Objective

  • Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-Madras) proposes a Drone Pilot Skilling & Livelihood Initiative to skill 100 rural youth (50 men, 50 women) as DGCA-certified, employment-ready drone pilots within 12 weeks.

Description

  • India's drone ecosystem is expanding rapidly, yet there is a shortage of certified, deployment-ready pilots, especially in rural regions. Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, through Amberwings Pvt Ltd, brings proven execution capability. This project bridges the gap between skilling and livelihood, creating first-generation earners and micro-entrepreneurs.

Impact

  • The Livelihood Assurance Model ensures a dual pathway of structured employment and supported entrepreneurship, creating sustainable and long-term income opportunities for certified drone pilots across agriculture and industry.
