Principal Investigator

Prof. Arun Tangirala

Objective

  • 1. Introduce educational tools through e-Learning for children with dyslexia and autism. 2. Develop handcrafted learning modules and videos with subtitles for educational content and demos. 3. Create video content for teachers of children with special needs to provide remedial teaching strategies.

Description

  • This CSR proposal aims to address the lack of educational content for differently-abled children, specifically targeting those with dyslexia and autism. While open and free content for self-learning has been a significant development in education, it often neglects the needs of children with special requirements. To tackle this issue, the proposal outlines a plan to collaborate with the Madras Dyslexia Association (MDA), an organization with over 30 years of experience in supporting children with dyslexia. MDA has trained over 18,000 teachers in practical remedial teaching strategies. The proposed plan includes content design, development, videography, and editing. The total budget required for the project is Rs. 5.24 Crores, covering both the dyslexia and anticipated autism content creation initiatives.

Impact

  • This project aims to: Bridge the gap in educational content for differently-abled children, Empower teachers with the necessary tools and strategies for effective remedial teaching, Improve the learning experience and outcomes for children with dyslexia and autism, Promote inclusivity in education by providing accessible online resources for special needs learners.
