CSR Proposal for pilot demonstration of residential heat pumps in UT Ladakh

CSR Proposal for pilot demonstration of residential heat pumps in UT Ladakh

Principal Investigator

Prof. Satyanarayana Seshadri

Objective

  • Two categories of heat pumps are suggested for space heating solutions, namely: Air-based Heat Pump, Water-based Heat Pump

Description

  • IIT Madras and EESL are trying energy efficiency measures in UT of Ladakh to make the union territory carbon-neutral, Under this initiative, we are trying to provide a heat pump-based energy-efficient space heating solution to the UT administration, We have planned to take up two air-based and two water-based heat pumps for a pilot demonstration through CSR initiative.

Impact

  • Support enhancing comfort levels through a heat-pump-based space heating system in public buildings and hospitals, Support in enhancing school-going children.
