Objective
- The program requires $10M commitment in grants to progress 10 projects from IRL4 (lab prototype) to IRL6 (pilot field deployment) over a 3 year period.
Description
- SECURE is a program to accelerate lab to market technology commercialisation in industrial decarbonisation. It was launched as a collaboration between IIT MADRAS and India's premier decarbonisation focussed venture studio, IndusDC, to work with labs producing the technology as inventors and building the ventures by identifying experienced technical and business entrepreneurs in residence (EIR), The program will discover technologies from universities and national laboratories across India each having a 20-50Million Tonnes of decarbonisation potential at scale. IndusDC will evaluate the technologies using its proprietary IRL (Indus readiness level ? integrated with technology, market, commercial and talent readiness) framework to onboard and progress the technology.
Impact
- Through this program, we believe that many of the early TRL technologies in India developed through support from the Department of Science and Technology and other agencies will be scaled to higher TRL levels
