Objective
- The objective of this proposal is to develop a state-of-the-art center for rehabilitation, assistive, and sports technologies to empower persons with disabilities and ageing population, and enhance their quality of life.
Description
- In India, research indicates that the number of people with disabilities ranges from 90 to 130 million. The exclusion of people with disabilities from full participation in economic and social activities results in a substantial economic impact. Studies suggest that a country's GDP could face losses of 5-7% due to the exclusion of persons with disabilities. In the case of India, this translates to a potential annual loss of approximately $150 billion., Given the scale of this challenge and its economic implications, there is a pressing need to develop innovative solutions and support systems that enhance the lives of people with disabilities.
