Objective
- To develop a database of auto-antibodies reported in patients in hitherto known autoimmune diseases., To perform disease ontology analysis specific to organs to unravel the pathogenic autoantibodies involved in major human diseases., To layer and enable data retrieval with a provision to enrich data on autoimmune conditions prevalent in India., To create an easily accessible web interface and host the details in the form of a user-interactive database.
Description
- In the last few decades, tremendous efforts have been devoted to elucidate the generation and functions of autoantibodies in different autoimmune conditions and infections including COVID-19. However, reports of these countless previously identified autoantibodies are randomly dispersed in the literature and are not in readily usable form to the interested professional community., In the proposed work, autoimmune disorders will be compiled from all authentic resources including published case reports and research articles.
Impact
- The outcomes will have impact on societal health and welfare., This autoantibody database will be the 'first of its kind resource'., Immediate translational potential to this work., Students at different academic levels such as PhD, masters' and undergraduate students will be trained via this project.
