Objective

• IIT Madras Alumni are committed to addressing the pressing and impending water crises in our country. Leveraging their experience and extensive network with industry, governmental, and non-governmental agencies, they have provided seed funding to establish AquaMAP: Centre for Water Management and Policy at IIT Madras in 2022.

Description

• There is a significant gap between the water demand and the water supplied, which reduces the per capita availability of good quality water., In this context, IIT Madras Alumni are committed to addressing the pressing and impending water crises in our country. They aim to actively collaborate with IITM faculty to facilitate the adaptation and scaled application of already developed technologies and best management practices to suit different field conditions in India.

Impact

• AquaMAP is providing technical support for all aspects related to water quality assurance and data management to WATCO in the prestigious 24x7 Drink from Tap projects in the state of Odisha. Additionally, AquaMAP is associated with the Art of Living as a knowledge partner in their water-related projects and provides technical support to other organizations like United Way and Siruthuli.
