Neuro Diversity in the Workplace
Principal Investigator
Prof. Lata Dyaram
Objective
- This project explores the concept of neurodiversity, advocating that conditions like autism, dyslexia, and ADHD are natural variations in thinking style rather than medical disorders. Many face challenges in traditional hiring processes due to societal biases and difficulties in interviews. However, some companies are adapting their HR practices to tap into the neurodiverse talent pool, often collaborating with external partners to identify, train, and support neurodiverse employees. The project aims to promote workplace inclusion for neurodivergent individuals, recognising their unique strengths.
Description
- Analyse how current organisational practices can help or hinder the hiring of neurodiverse talent., Create an HR framework to assist organisations interested in hiring neurodiverse talent.
Impact
- This project aims to achieve several outcomes, including contributing to organisational knowledge on neurodiversity inclusion, providing an HR framework for inclusive strategies, influencing policy changes, publishing research, and raising awareness about the value of individual differences and neurodiversity.
