Objective
- AquaMAP would like to propose solutions for sustainable water management in Thuthipet Panchayat of Vellore district, which can then be a model for similar efforts elsewhere and hence seek financial support from industry partners.
Description
- Based on the collected data and considering the present scenario in the study area, the following methodology is proposed. PHASE-I: Wastewater Management, Rainwater Harvesting, Solid Waste Management. PHASE-II: Wastewater Management, Rainwater Harvesting Solid Waste Management
Impact
- The key aspect of this project is in being able to measure the success of the project qualitatively and quantitatively. The following results will be scientifically analysed. The quality of lake water pre and postintervention., The quality of the treated water discharged to the lake., Interviews of stakeholders by a third party., Amount of money generated through recycling of resources., Condition assessment of physical Infrastructure created., Gainful employment for locals., Improvement in sanitation services due to wastewater and solid waste management practices
