- As packaging ? a rapidly growing sector ? continues to pose significant environmental and health challenges through synthetic materials falling short of quality, sustainability, and biodegradability regulatory standards, this IIT Madras Centre of Excellence in Biodegradable Packaging Solutions (BioPack) functions as a global comprehensive hub integrating research, enterprise incubation, testing, consultation, and training. By bringing together academic experts, industries, policymakers, and community representatives, the centre advances circular economy principles and reduces plastic pollution in alignment with global sustainability development goals
