Hydrogen Incubation Centre at IIT Madras
Principal Investigator
Prof. Aravind Kumar Chandiran
Objective
- Incubation centre is created to attract innovative ideas for alternative technologies and support them with start-up funds, These alternative technologies can be developed for next-generation hydrogen storage vessels, high pressure compressors, and pipelines for hydrogen transportation
Description
- Leveraging IIT Madras Research Park's expertise in advancing early-stage ideas to commercial reality, this initiative establishes a Hydrogen Incubation Centre to identify, screen, and support innovative technologies for next-generation hydrogen storage vessels, high-pressure compressors, and transportation pipelines. By providing seed funds and technical support to the most viable spin-offs, and incubating components classified by development timeline, the centre accelerates green hydrogen ecosystem development and strengthens India's clean-energy innovation landscape
Impact
- Invite proposals on new and innovative ideas, screen, and provide seed fund and technical support to most viable technologies towards spin-offs
