- CREST at IIT Madras conducts high-quality scholarly research in startups, innovation, and risk financing ? functioning as a large experimental facility akin to those in science and technology disciplines. With 2,499 startup profiles created and significant developmental projects undertaken for government agencies, CREST generates evidence-based insights that enhance policymaking, strengthen managerial and investment decisions, and directly contribute to startup formation, entrepreneurship development, and nation building across India's growing innovation ecosystem.
