Description

• Addressing the lack of quality science education for those unable to afford time and money for college ? particularly in southern India ? this IIT Madras initiative launches an Online B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computing, training prospective schoolteachers with strong mathematical foundations, equipping students for higher education, and fostering real-world applications through inclusive curriculum and accessible lectures. By expanding STEM access and strengthening teacher preparedness, the program builds long-term capacity in mathematics and scientific computing across underserved communities.

Impact

• The project will produce schoolteachers with a strong foundation in mathematics and computing, It will prepare students for higher education particularly in southern India where there is a dearth of quality science education at the undergraduate level, The program will offer career opportunities as schoolteachers, trainers for entrance exams, and in the fields of mathematics and scientific computing
