Objective
- To host a regular seminar series with one speaker per week during the semester and to cover travel and local accommodation expenses for visiting speakers also to facilitate interactions and collaborations between experts and local researchers. To provide visibility to Ph.D. students and postdocs. The theoretical physics seminar series at IIT Madras aims to create a vibrant research community by bringing together experts from around the world to share their work and collaborate. It also provides visibility and networking opportunities for Ph.D. students and postdocs.
Description
- We propose a seminar series with weekly talks by experts, both from India and abroad. We intend to fund the travel and local accommodation expenses for these speakers. Our plan includes: Inviting 8-12 speakers per semester, Organizing around 20-24 talks annually, Showcasing the work done at IIT Madras, Exploring new ideas and potential collaborations, Building research partnerships and MoUs with other institutions.
Impact
- The expected outcomes of the seminar series are weekly talks by experts in various theoretical physics fields. Increased visitor traffic, fostering potential collaborations. Growth of the postdoctoral program within the group. Enhanced visibility of our research group. Improved research productivity. Enhanced employment opportunities for graduate students.
