High Efficient Solar Fuel Generation-Focus on Green Hydrogen Production through Direct Photoelectrolysis
Principal Investigator
Prof. Aravind Kumar Chandiran
Objective
- Development of materials for high efficient solar fuel (green hydrogen production), Demonstration of solar water splitting to hydrogen lab scale using the high efficient materials, Technoeconomic assessment of this next generation technology for low cost green hydrogen production.
Description
- The proposed work on solar water splitting aims at converting and storing solar energy in the form of chemical fuels directly via the judiciously designed distortion induced perovskite materials, using photoelectrochemical devices, Upon successful demonstration of high performance PEC devices, it is expected to perform stability tests for reliable performance over long period of time. Following which, the system should be scale-up to bigger modules.
Impact
- The overall expectation of the project is to produce green hydrogen from sunlight and water.
