Magnetic field on enhancing the performance of photoelectrochemical solar water splitting to generate green hydrogen
Principal Investigator
Prof. Aravind Kumar Chandiran
Objective
- Develop photoelectrochemical solar water splitting devices using the polarized material for efficient water splitting, Develop the correlation between induced magnetic polarization, excited state lifetime and their PEC performance.
Description
- The proposed work on solar water splitting aims at converting and storing solar energy in the form of chemical fuels directly via the judiciously designed magnetic polarization induced perovskite materials, using photoelectrochemical devices, Upon successful demonstration of high performance PEC devices, it is expected to perform stability tests for reliable performance over long period of time. Following which, the system should be scale-up to bigger modules.
Impact
- The overall expectation of the project is to produce green hydrogen from sunlight and water.
