Objective
- To upgrade our existing under-/post-graduate laboratories to state-of-the-art laboratories to train students within and outside the institute to foster research, development, innovation, and entrepreneurship, in the areas of energy, decarbonization, IoT and sustainability.
Description
- 1. Upgradation of existing UG/PG labs with state-of-the-art facilities in the areas of energy, decarbonization, IoT and sustainability, a. Total number of experiments: 35+, b. Floor area: 3000 sq. ft. The upgradation involves procuring new lab instruments, furnishing, and re-construction of lab space, 2. Training Programme: a. Hands-on-training for 500+ IIT Madras UG/PG students per year in these labs, b. Hands-on-training for 100+ non-IIT Madras UG/PG students per year during summer breaks, c. Train 50+ IIT Madras MS/PhD students per year as teaching assistants who will develop potentials to create similar facilities/labs in next steps of their career, d. Promote entrepreneurship among the UG/PG students with an aim to create start-ups.
Impact
- Create trained human resource that will cater to the fast-growing industry requirements and align with the policies framed under National Education Policy (NEP).
