Objective
- To establish a center with desktop waterjet-based gemstone cutting and design units in Nagapattinam.
Description
- Nagapattinam district has a strong base of women Self Help Groups and a growing need for sustainable livelihood opportunities beyond low-income informal labor. This project proposes the establishment of a women-led gemstone cutting and design ecosystem using desktop waterjet cutting technology. The project seeks CSR support to develop a scalable and replicable rural enterprise model that generates sustainable livelihoods while promoting women's economic empowerment and local industrial development.

- Creation of a women-owned gemstone processing and jewelry component ecosystem. Sustainable livelihood generation for rural women and SHG members. Increased technical skills and entrepreneurial capabilities among beneficiaries. Establishment of Nagapattinam as an emerging rural manufacturing and innovation cluster.
