Objective
- To educate young individuals across India about the consequences of global climate change, To offer comprehensive training to youths in the realm of community-based adaptation, Engage in meaningful collaboration with coastal communities fostering awareness and active participation.
Description
- The DST - CoE - Climate Change Impacts on Coastal structures and the Adaptation Strategies, and the Global Water and Climate Adaptation Centre, are the two centres in IIT Madras, dedicated to assess climate change impact, The DST - CoE centre has developed a framework called BASHEC. It is a coastal climate service framework.
Impact
- Selected candidates will be co-guided and supported to carry out a year-long research project with a support of Rs. 5,00,000 to carry out the research problem, Additional support of Rs. 50,000 per semester will be given as a scholarship to cover accommodation and food within the IIT Madras campus.
