Objective

  • The project's primary objective is to develop and recommend climate-resilient sustainable livelihood strategies tailored to diverse climate change scenarios in the Indian Sundarbans region.

Description

  • This project involves projecting climate change scenarios based on IPCC's representative concentration pathways (RCPs) and devising innovative mitigation strategies for each scenario. Additionally, the project aims to promote gender-equitable economic growth, enhance disaster preparedness, strengthen embankments through mangrove restoration, and empower local communities to monitor and restore mangrove ecosystems.

  • Mangrove restoration to enhance climate resilience, Empowering 8,000 households directly and benefiting around 42,000 indirect beneficiaries, promoting gender-equitable economic growth, Publishing a peer-reviewed international journal paper on livelihood strategies, Raising awareness and sharing knowledge about climate-resilient practices through various channels.
