- Identification of region-specific anthropogenic and natural sources., Developments of spatial and sectoral emission for air pollutants and GHGs., A mobile van based Air pollutant measurements is adapted to ascertain the pollution load., To understand the role of various govt. policy and its impact on climate, open access of online emission resources for the stakeholder and students in a user-friendly tool.
Description
- India is the 3rd largest CO2 emitting nation. The sources of GHGs and pollutants are numerous. The challenges lie with access to activity data for each sector and its resolution. We are trying to adopt an approach that takes into account all the policies being implemented in various sectors in recent years to curb air pollution.
Impact
- The development of a policy-driven high-resolution emission inventory of air pollutants and GHGs over India, would better quantify the long-term mitigation planning and impact., Outcomes would benefit policymakers and facilitate critical and sensitive surface input to air quality/climate models to understand the role of Indian GHGs emission.
