Objective
- We, through the Peri-Urban Initiative, have been facilitating the development of a wild play garden in Katchipattu, Sriperumbudur, aimed at providing children with opportunities to reconnect with wilderness.
Description
- By integrating the wild play garden into existing initiatives, we aim to create a holistic approach to community development that addresses both environmental and social needs. This initiative is in continuation with our previous efforts in Katchipattu and the Manimangalam watershed, including community gardening, waste management, and comprehensive food-shed development.
Impact
- The garden aims to drive optimism in the Katchipattu community, offering hope amidst economic challenges and social deprivation., By engaging children in meaningful outdoor activities, we hope to combat feelings of disenchantment and restore a sense of pride and hope for a better future., The wild play garden fills a crucial gap, providing a safe and accessible environment for children to explore and play.
