Implementation of Solar Powered multi-purpose Electric Machinery for farm use

Objective

• Design and develop multi-purpose portable electric machineries unit. Implement an optimum sized solar powered unit for charging the above machinery. Implement the above setup in collaboration with the NGO Pothu Vivasayee Sangam in Pugalur village of Karur District, TN.

Description

• Over the past decade, there has been a significant increase globally in the use of electric vehicles and machinery amidst technological advances and increasing climate change awareness. However, the agricultural sector's transition to electric machinery has been slower. This project aims to create practical and useful farm equipment that is economically feasible, and based on indigenous technology and locally available resources.

Impact

• The main outcome is the development of economical and locally made electric powered farm machinery, charged with solar power, for small and medium farmers in India. Once such a unit is developed and demonstrated to the farming population, we expect their active participation in welcoming the new sustainable technology.
