Objective
- This project will indirectly support the goals of SDG 3- Good health and Wellbeing, by building a transparent system where AI acts as a collaborative partner for patients and clinicians.
Description
- Cognitive sociolinguistics views multilingual healthcare records as more than words in different languages. They are acts of meaning-making shaped by the mental frameworks of clinicians, patients, and AI systems. The extant literature focuses heavily on technical goals such as natural language processing, terminology mapping, and interoperability. Social and cognitive dimensions often receive less attention.
Impact
- The present work will design an AI-Human Translation Collaboration Platform., The platform will produce translations of multilingual healthcare records., The platform will include patient-facing features., Patients will know when a human verified the translation., AI will act as a collaborative partner.
