Development of optimal brain stimulation protocols for stroke recovery using a digital twin
Principal Investigator
Prof. V Srinivasa Chakravarthy
Objective
- To develop an integrative Digital Twin that can simultaneously model both behaviour and brain dynamics., Develop Digital Twin-based Brain Stimulation for Stroke Rehabilitation.
Description
- Develop a computational modeling framework to simultaneously model both behavior and brain dynamics., Include visual function, motor function and aspects of cognitive function including decision making and working memory., Model the EEG response associated with brain activity observed when the subject's brain engaged in any of the above behavioral activities., Model the effects of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and motor function and EEG responses.
Impact
- Better understanding of stroke at the levels of neural physiology and behaviour., Transform stoke rehabilitation by using integrated Digital Twin models with low-cost and scalable technologies such as mobile games and electroencephalography., Digital Twins can be the basis for developing personalized stimulation programs for patients.
