Objective
- Need assessment report for high speed ultracentrifuge at DMST, IIT Madras.
Description
- Nanomedicine has emerged as a transformative field in treating complex diseases such as cancer, where conventional chemotherapy often demonstrates limited therapeutic success. However, the successful development of nanomedicine critically depends on high-speed ultracentrifugation, which is the gold-standard technique for nanoparticle purification, isolation, and quality control. At present, the Department of Medical Sciences & Technology does not have an ultracentrifuge, creating a key infrastructural gap that limits advanced nanomedicine research at IIT Madras.
Impact
- Enhance scientific productivity., Support high-impact publications and patents., Strengthen industry partnerships., Enable development of affordable Indian nanomedicines., Build skilled manpower in emerging therapeutic technologies.
