Objective
- In this CSR proposal we aim at working on the following four verticals: Education and awareness program for adult college students from few rural districts of India., Screening of young rural women for diabetes (pregnant women for GDM), malnutrition, hormonal imbalance and PCOS., Medical Nutritional Counselling., Technical Skill Development.
Description
- The National Family Health Surveys 4 and 5 (NHFS-4 and NHFS-5) indicates that approximately 23% of reproductive aged Indian women exhibit low body mass index (BMI) of less than 18.5 Kg/m2 due to undernutrition. The same survey also reports that 24% of women are overweight or obese with a BMI of 25 Kg/m2 or above. Regrettably, almost 57% of Indian women exhibit anemia either during pregnancy or otherwise in due course of their lives., Thus, there is a pressing need for educating young reproductive women and potential mothers the importance of nutrition and its impact on reproductive health and pregnancy.
