Objective
- The Memory Lab project proposes to explore the use of metaverse in curating, monitoring, disseminating, preserving, and recreating practices, performances, artifacts, and sites related to tangible and intangible cultural heritage. It aims to facilitate the preservation and translation of cultural heritage into interactive models, drawing on current and cutting-edge research in memory studies.
Description
- The project envisages to productively engineer metaverse platforms as well as AR/VR tools to virtually reconstruct heritage monuments and heritage sites while also integrating the intangible cultural heritage elements such as rituals/practices, skills, oral traditions, performances, knowledge systems, and value systems. The aim is to simultaneously facilitate, within the same platform, a virtual tour of the monuments through portable, experiential tools while also providing historical information, cultural awareness, and social responsibility through interactive applications.
