Objective
- To develop a virtual heritage model of the city of Chennai developed with a digital storytelling vertical.
Description
- This project seeks to develop an AR model of the Chennai's landmark statues and monuments which would enable an immersive and experiential virtual tour of the city. By exploiting the potential of Digital Humanities, the project seeks to create a digital platform which can broaden the scope of digital museum and archiving by converting it into an experiential knowledge., Thereby, the project aims to develop a unique digital storytelling model to preserve as well digitally disseminate the diverse and rich history of Chennai.
Impact
- A possible collaboration with the Chennai Heritage Foundation and to create a 360-degree virtual heritage tour of the city as part of celebrating the Madras day., This project would also enable recording the local histories and offer a means to disseminate the lesser-known episodes from the past., The project can be extended to other major cities in the country such as Mysore, Mumbai, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Delhi which have opulent cultural and colonial histories.
