Description
- This proposal seeks support to develop a modular, state-of-the-art stair-climbing platform designed for independent operation by a wheelchair user or a geriatric user, on India's diverse and non-standardised stair infrastructure. The project runs an iterative product development and validation process covering user needs assessment, mechanical and control systems engineering, prototype fabrication, safety and stability validation, controlled user trials and field testing, with continuous engagement of wheelchair users and rehabilitation experts throughout.
