Objective
- To serve many towns and cities in India to: reduce the high percentages of non-revenue water by identifying leakages and pilferages, prevent contamination of drinking water during transportation through underground pipelines, improve the health, efficiency and life of the water supply network by developing robust versions of Endobot and expanding its reach to leverage existing technological advancement to solve real-life issues of the society and its stakeholders concerning one of the basic amenities - WATER. How to enable piped water to be safe, affordable and abundant?
Description
- To address these problems, Solinas Integrity has developed a robotic solution called Endobot. Solinas Endobot System (SES) is an entire unit that mainly consists of a remotely-operated robotic vehicle that carries multiple sensors over-board to perform endoscopy of pipelines, i.e. for internal condition assessment and to identify various kinds of defects. SES will be used to perform inline inspection of the buried pipes.
Impact
- Endobot will be tremendously helpful to water utility companies, construction and engineering companies involved in O&M of water supply and municipal corporations in reducing leakages and increase the pipeline efficiency. Reducing the non-revenue water by identifying and plugging the leaks in a cost effective manner will reduce the stress and dependency on the existing water resources., Moreover, the entire pipeline network is buried under the ground which provides a huge need for inline robotic inspection devices to identify the existing defects on the pipelines and find potential failure spots to prevent costly digging and pipeline replacement.
