Efficient water treatment potential through gel encapsulated nanoparticle immobilized on porous membrane.
Principal Investigator
Prof. Jitendra Sangwai
Objective
- The objective of this project is to develop clean water potential through gel encapsulated nanoparticles.
Description
- The microgel particles are immobilized over porous nanoparticles through micro gelation in controlled environment laboratory settings. The gel encapsulated nanoparticles is then functionalized and immobilized over conventional membranes used for water treatment. These gel encapsulated nanoparticles help in trapping bacteria and nanoparticles penetrates into pathogen and bacteria cell that causes cell death. Some nanoparticles also help in oxidizing bacteria cells to eliminate pathogenic contaminants. The nanoparticles have potential to kill microbe and bacteria and gel encapsulation help to efficiently trap these bacteria from waste water. This aforesaid system enhances overall water treatment efficacy of porous membrane.
Impact
- This project will help in developing new strategies for large-scale water treatment strategy., The project also help to facilitate clean water production from recycled waste water for irrigation, domestic use and other purposes.
