Study on floating structural concepts and riser systems for deep and ultra-deep water for east coast of India
Principal Investigator
Prof. Sannasiraj
Co-Investigator
Prof. K Narendran
Objective
- The main objective of this research project is to explore all possible deep water offshore systems., To understand the hydrodynamic behavior of the selected structural concept.
Description
- Techno-commercial evaluation of suitable floating structural concepts considering parameters like production profile, water depth, environmental conditions, etc., Study on analysis and design of production & export risers, mooring system and umbilicals, suitable with the type of selected floating system., Conducting workshops and lecture series for knowledge up-gradation of IEOT-ONGC engineers., Laboratory modeling of selected structural concept and mooring system and the measurements of motion responses and mooring line tension.
Impact
- Develop an offshore system along with a codified report which can act as a reference guide for any deep and ultra-deep water field development planning by ONGC in India., Knowledge upgradation of IEOT-ONGC engineers during the course of this collaboration., Laboratory investigation under environmental conditions of Bay of Bengal would yield to better understanding of the system response.
