Concept Note: A Hybrid Course on Water Quality, People's Water Data

Objective

• The vision of the project is to create People's Water Data via this new course started by IIT Madras, India, in collaboration with Tel Aviv University, Israel, this semester (2023-2024), enhancing water literacy and creating water professionals in the process.

Description

• The course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of important aspects of water quality and the analysis of key parameters., The students will be introduced the theory first and then analysis of those parameters, followed by measurements in the field with hand-held instruments, field test kits, etc., This course is designed on a pilot study done on such testing during the last summer in different places across Tamil Nadu, India.

Impact

• This hybrid course on water quality aims to not only educate but also empower individuals and communities to become stewards of their water resources, ultimately contributing to the sustainable management of water for all stakeholders involved.
