Development of a hydroinformatics platform for Nallampatti village for solution implementation
Principal Investigator
Prof. T Pradeep
Objective
- The aim is to leverage digital technology to build a scalable model for communities to achieve total stakeholder participation. This will provide a clear route to identifying problems and simulating solutions for clean water, thereby enabling rapid implementation of the right solutions for enhanced social benefit.
Description
- This proposal will build a Hydroinformatics platform for the selected village in Erode district. This village has been chosen because it has specific water related problems connected to socio-economic factors such as health and economic progress. This proposal will create an innovative approach to build consensus on The proposed platform will be built in the form of a Digital Twin of the village, which will have a built-in learning algorithm to reflect reality as closely as possible in real-time. The effectiveness of the Digital Twin will be demonstrated for the selected village over a two-year period, following which, it can be generalized and be adopted for any geographical location to help improve socio-economic metrics of communities.
Impact
- From these varied findings of our prior work, we can conclude that there are many interrelated issues at present and that these cannot be addressed individually. It will require a collaborative inter-disciplinary effort to address them effectively. This coordinated effort will need to be established across different stakeholders and they would require to see the big picture to identify the extent of their contribution. The ideal way to make this happen would be by using a digital platform that can be customized to represent every stakeholder's view point and give them the bigger picture.
