Objective

  • To ensure that 100% of the rural populatio of Assamn is provided with clean drinking water.

Description

  • Water contamination of drinking water is a major health hazard across various districts of Punjab, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Assam., Unfortunately, maximum effect of water contamination is observed on the rural population as many a time, the only source of good water available in such habitats is groundwater., Various state government bodies have made a number of proactive efforts for ensuring good quality drinking water supply throughout their states., We need to rigorously participate in this goal by providing new technologies/products for clean drinking water.

Impact

  • Design of water treatment plant proposed here is based on AMRIT technology from IIT Madras. AMRIT (Anion and Metal Removal by Indian Technology) represents a new family of technologies for the removal of groundwater contaminants from drinking water.
