A Pocket Potentiostat for digital education
Principal Investigator
Prof. T Pradeep
Objective
- We have recently developed a pocket-size potentiostat (PSTAT), an electrochemical hand-held device designed to serve as a digital platform for conducting experiments conveniently at home with locally available consumables and at a lower cost. With its portable design and user-friendly interface, our pocket-size potentiostat opens up an opportunity to learn electrochemical experimentation for enthusiasts.
Description
- Digital education (DE) is an innovative incorporation of modern technology and tools to assist teaching and learning for the new generation., The main benefit of digital education includes greater access to educational resources and opportunities at the fingertip., In view of this, we have developed a pocket-size electrochemical device by which a school or undergraduate student can do several electrochemical experiments.
Impact
- In the context of digital education in India, electrochemistry is an essential topic that should be taught to school students for the following reasons such as: science literacy, modern technology, water quality monitoring, career opportunities, and innovation.
